Father of C is no more...

Pioneering computer scientist Dennis Ritchie has died on october 12, 2011 at New Jersey, US, after a long illness. He was the creator of 'C' programming language. He is also known as 'Father of C'. He also played a key role in the development of Unix operating System at Bell Labs during 1960s and 70s. Unix was the OS of choice for the internet and it is familiar to almost every modern-day developer.

Facts About C:-

Well frnds...we all know very well about C language. But now i am going to tell you some facts about this language...

• "C" was designed as a minimalist language to be used in writing operating system.
• It was named "C" because many its feature came another language called "B" while itself came from another language called "BPCL".
• Dennis Ritchie rewrote features from BPCL to create "C" language in 1972 at Bell Telephone Laboratories.
• He also developed Unix Operating system with the help of "C" language.
• In 1983 ANSI setup a committee that further amended and standardized the language.
• Many language like python, php, etc have been developed in C.
